Requirements
- AutoLyrix Version 0.2.1 or newer.
- Windows NT, Windows XP or Windows Vista

How
Windows XP (and others) have a command call "openfiles" which is used to list the files (and folders) in use. This command only lists the open files in a share folder. This means that you will have to share your MP3 folder in order to make it work.

Step by Step Open your Windows Explorer and find your MP3 folder, right click on it and select Properties. In the Properties window, select the Sharing Tab.

Check the "Share this folder on the network" option. Type the name of the share folder. If you are really in a network (office) you can share it using the character '$' at the end of your sharename and nobody will see it, you can type "Mp3$" for example.

Note: If you don't have the "Share this folder on the network" option there is two possiblities:
- Instead of "Share this folder on the network" like in the above image you have text where you can select a Wizard to help you enable a network or you can simple Enable without the Wizard. Select the last option and you will see the "Share this folder on the network" option. - You will have to enable "File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks" (You can do that right clicking in "My Network Places" in your Desktop, Properties, select your connection and right click again, Properties and Install, select Service and find "File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks".
OK, now you can type in your Windows Explorer something like: \\MY-COMPUTER-NAME\MY-SHARE-NAME. If you don't know your computer name, try:

- Start, Run, type "cmd" and click OK, type "hostname" and hit enter (The next line that shows up in the black screen where you are typing is your COMPUTER-NAME), type "exit" and hit enter. - Or you can right click in "My Computer" in your Desktop, Properties and select the "Computer Name" tab. Look for "Full Computer name". Use the first word before any '.', if you see "nowayx.mynetwork.net", your computer name is nowayx.
Now you know your computer name and your sharename, when you type it on your Windows Explorer you should see all your MP3 files.
For example, my computer name is "NoWayX" and my sharename is "mp3s", so I will type \\nowayx\mp3s
Now, right click on this "My Network Places" and select "Map Network Drive".

Select any Drive Letter (Z: for example) and make sure you check the box "Reconnect at logon".

Ok! Done it! The hard part is done! Now, run your player and import your musics through this new Drive Letter (Z: for example).

After you had imported all musics and your player is working like usual:
Run AutoLyrix (if you have AutoLyrix open, that's fine), open Preferences and select the "Advanced" tab. Check the "Support all Players" option.
Still under Preferences, select the "Options" tab and change the "Check current song title every" to 10 seconds. You can leave it as 2 seconds (which is the default value), but it might overload your computer... (If you have a good machine, don't worry about it). Click OK to save the changes.

Finally, play a song in your player and see if AutoLyrix will get the current song title from it! AutoLyrix will try to read ID3v2 first, if ID3v2 is not found, ID3v1 is the next option (using ID3 by Hamed_ji, source/website here) . If ID3v1 is not set in the MP3 file too, then AutoLyrix will try parse the filename into Artist - Title, splitting the filename in the first '-' (dash). The first part should be the Artist, and the second the title.

Here I'm playing U2 & Greenday in the 1by1 (a fast/small player) through my shared folder (Z:).

Enjoy!
